All that vanished in class, surrounded by other people who love food and cooking, discussing the program and opportunities. It will be challenging, but also a lot of fun. First day was mostly introduction to the school, the program, and the class itself. The program emphasizes learning by doing, so although Culinary Basics will be heavy on lecture and theory to start, the lab (kitchen) work ramps up quickly. The supporting first semester courses, Nutrition and Sanitation, are all theory, of course. I’m also taking a public speaking class as part of the general education requirement. These three are all internet or combined internet/classroom courses.
Happened by the line for student IDs when it was short, so now I have my student ID, which among other things qualifies me for Academic software pricing– a small perk.
